Revisions

I can only assume that either my previous tattoo post was found so repulsive to my viewers that no one cared to comment, or that, because of my extended blogging break, no one has become accustomed to checking my site often enough to comment on new posts. Both options are rather sad, but I'm set on changing things! I've erased my previous blog entry, complete with the racy tattoo photo, and have posted several more interesting tattoo ideas. I had a rather enjoyable time finding these, and I'd appreciate all the comments you'd like to offer up. What kind of tattoos do you like? Which of the following are good? Which are bad?

On another note, I won my pool game on Wednesday! There was a bit of luck involved, and one key play that landed 3 scores in a row (thanks to the helpful input from my coach). Unfortunately, mine was the only victory for my team that night. Although we only only about 30 points from the lead in the league, we are currently ranked last. :( I'll keep you posted as we progress.

Also, stay tuned for a blog about a new fantastic band I've just recently learned about. I'll be posting that later this week.

Playing Pool in the Dark

This past week turned out to be rather eventful at our pool match. It was the first time our new team member played (and man - she was quite the shark for the first several racks! She might turn out to be a 3 right off the bat!). She was the second on our team to play for the night. However, halfway through her second rack, the electricity at the bar went out! We all stood around in the dark for several minutes shouting out inappropriate jokes, but the lights never came back on! This happened at a bar on Sprague Street in the Valley area ... so it almost seemed fitting. But nevertheless, it put a cramp in our pool playing! We called around to other bars in the area and found an open table not too far away. It was a Thai bar that I'd never been to before, so I greatly enjoyed the people watching. I must say, however, it is slightly odd to see a 60-year-old, white-haired man behind the DJ booth and listen as one man in a white jump suite sings Karaoke to Justin Timberlake, only to be followed by a cowboy-type singing Toby Keith. An odd night, all around. But I suppose that's what keeps me coming back. I didn't play, so I have no score to report, but that's probably for the best. I need a bit more practice I say the least.

Stay tuned for a tattoo post to be uploaded later this week. ;)

New Things

This past weekend was full of new things. First of all, the Ethiopian New Year was on Sunday, and it was my first time celebrating it. I have observed the Persian New Year for several years now, and I'm starting to greatly enjoy the concept of celebrating more than just the American New Year. Think about it - I get to have a party on January 1, in mid spring, AND in fall! If anyone knows of other New Years, let me know. We should plan a party!

I also got a new toaster this weekend. Well, new to me. It was a hand-me-down of sorts. But it seems to be holding it's own for the time being (I have a long, sad history with toasters. I am very excited this one might work out!). It didn't, however, get off on the right foot with my cat, Cassius, this morning. Just about the time Cassius got the courage to get close to it, it decided the toast was done and snapped up with such a force that Cassius was across the room in a split second. Awfully funny to watch, if you ask me.

Lastly, I have a new hair color. I've been wanting to go dark for some time now, but held off for the fall season (dark colors just seem to mesh better with fall). It's kinda scary to change hair colors, but also rather fun.

I hope this somehow inspires you to try something new this week. I play pool tomorrow at the worst bar on the list. But, on the bright side, we usually always come away with a good story. :)

Pool: Fall Session 2009 - Here I Come!

My first pool game of the Fall session was last night. I lost... but I'm not too surprised. I barely played at all over the summer. The three pre-league games I DID play were not very encouraging. But it was great to see the team again!

I have another music recommendation for you. Cage The Elephant. I saw them in concert in Spokane not too long ago. I can see that they may not be for everyone. But they are certainly worth a try!

Also, as this is my first post in months and it may startle a few people, I am going to attempt posting once a week again. I will most likely post something about new music to try out once per month, some sort of tattoo idea that catches my eye once per month, and then anything else that happens to strike my fancy (pool updates, art, new Spokane venues I've discovered, gnarly adventures...). I hope you enjoy!
