Although the hip-hop has slid in recent years to become a despicable compilation of 15-year-old artists who try to sound cool by rapping about sex, drinking and clubbing, one or two glimmers of hope have been produced recently. I've always been a fan of Jay-z, and his new stuff is (so far) not disappointing. This collaboration with Alicia Keyes is like sugar to my ears. I'm not always ecstatic about Alica Keyes, because she tends to make her voice awfully squeaky for no good reason, but her amazing voice is perfect for this song.
So I took the plunge yesterday and purchased my very own skates! It will take me a while to learn to trust them, but I can tell a difference already. To be quite honest, it felt like skating on butter, which is both nice and scary. I DID, however, find T-stopping to be incredibly easier with these. Next practice is Thursday. I should be taking the written tests next week in order to graduate on to the next level (which is about time). Wish me luck!
Here are a few bands that are striking my fancy today.
I love travel, art and writing. Although I do not pursue any of it as much as I should. I love warm weather and bare feet. I'm working on becoming a better cook and I'm constantly trying to talk myself out of getting another tattoo.
